If you've been looking for a reason to explore Jamaica's north-eastern coast, Strawberry Fields Together is where you'll want to end up.

Tucked away in Robin's Bay, St. Mary, this 18-acre eco-resort sits on one of the last undeveloped stretches of coastline on the north shore.

The drive isn't easy. Past Annotto Bay, through Robin's Bay, down a road that trades tarmac for dirt and potholes.

But that rough stretch is doing you a favour. It's the reason Strawberry Fields has stayed exactly the way it is for over fifty years.

A Song That Became a Place

The name comes from the Beatles. "Strawberry Fields Forever."

In 1972, a group of young New Yorkers took that song and made it physical. Opened Jamaica's first legal campground on the cliffs of Robin's Bay.

The property changed hands over the years. For a time it operated as Sunrise Beach Resort. Then in 1987, Kim Chase took over and brought the original name back.

That warmth is not a marketing strategy. It's the foundation of the entire experience.

Where the Coastline Stayed Wild

The property spans two private beach coves, towering willow trees, and huge sedimentary rocks where Caribbean water crashes with nobody watching but you.

Cottages carry names like "Moonlight Magic" and "To Di World." Built with natural materials. Outdoor showers facing the ocean. Cross-ventilation so effective that air conditioning would be redundant.

The on-site Strawberry Patch Café & Grill is run by Miss Jen, Kim's sister-in-law, whose fried chicken earned a Jamaica Observer Table Talk Food Award as the culinary gem of St. Mary.

Home-cooked Jamaican food. Prepared by family. Served on a lawn overlooking the Caribbean Sea.

Why Strawberry Fields Stays With You

Strawberry Fields is where you go when you want to remember what Jamaica feels like without a script.

No performance. No production. Just coastline, good food, and the kind of peace you didn't know you were missing until you found it.

If you ever make the drive to Robin's Bay:

  • Go on a weekday

  • Bring nothing you don't need

  • Walk to the second cove

  • Eat the fried chicken at The Strawberry Patch

  • Stay the night if you can

Some places you choose. And some places only reveal themselves to people willing to take the long road.

Island Pick of the Week
Ocho Rios, St Ann

Most people know Ocho Rios as a cruise ship stop. A place you pass through on the way to Dunn's River Falls. But the town has more going on than most visitors ever see.

The fishing village at the eastern end. The craft market where vendors have been selling for decades. Mahogany Beach, which locals prefer over the tourist strip.

If you've only seen Ochi from a tour bus window, you haven't seen Ochi.
